Citrus Delight Creamed Sugar Scrub

Heated Phase:

• 9.5% E-Wax
• 9.5% Cetearyl Alcohol
• 19% Mango Butter (Can be substitued with Shea Butter)
• 18% Apricot Seed Oil
• 23% Watermelon Seed Oil
• 13% Virgin Coconut Oil
• 1% Seabuckthorn Oil
• 5% Moringa Oil

• 1% Optiphen Plus
• 1% Fragrance or Essential Oils (I used a blend of Grapefruit EO and Birds of Paradise Fragrance and did not use the full 1%). 
• Up to 140% Caster Sugar or Normal Sugar (140g sugar per 100g base)

• 74.6% Australian Pink Clay
• 25% Yellow Clay
• .1% Calendula Extract (Powdered concentrate - equals to 4.5% once diluted)
• .1% Chamomile Extract (Powdered concentrate)
• .1% Hibiscus Extract (Powdered concentrate)
• .1% Rosehip Extract

Summer Dreams Face Cream

Percentages:

• 42% Distilled Water
• 20% Chamomile Water 
• 6% Strawberry Extract (I made my own, see here for directions)
• .5% Allantoin
• .3% Panthenol
• 1.2% Hydrolyzed Oats

• 5.50% Avocado Oil
• 3% Rosehip Oil
• 3% Jojoba Oil
• 2% Evening Primrose Oil
• 1% Pomegranate Oil (if you have a particularly pungent pomegranate oil, you may want to lower the percentage in place of more jojoba oil). 
• .5% Seabuckthorn Berry Oil
• 5% Mango Butter
• 3% Cetyl Alcohol
• 5.45% E Wax

• 1% Optiphen Plus
• .1% COQ 10
• 4 drops Jasmine EO 
• 2 drops Neroli EO
• 1 drop Rosewood EO

Directions:

• Using separate containers specifically for skincare. I recommend glass (stainless steel is also fine) as you do not want little bits of plastic in your product. Some ingredients such as fragrance oils can also break down plastic. It is also important to use skincare specific tools as you don't want bits of food that are stuck in your tools getting into your products. To minimize this, I also use a separate cloth to wash my skincare dishes. Susan has written an article discussing this.
• Sterilize everything (equipment, counter space) with rubbing alcohol. 
• Wear gloves, especially if you will be handling raw ingredients. You may also want to wear a face mask to both protect you from inhaling fine powders, and to prevent you from breathing on your product. 
• Wear clothing that will not shed. I discovered this after making a batch of face cream while wearing a blue jumper. Afterwards I would find small bits of blue wool in the cream. 
• Use distilled water. Or even better, purchase cosmetic water from a supplier. Distilled water has been treated to remove any minerals. These minerals can prevent the preservative from working effectively, and also feed bacteria growth. Cosmetic water is similar to distilled, but has also been treated to remove bacteria. 
• Heat your formula phases to 75 degrees Celsius. Another option is to heat and hold, which you can read about here , here, and here (I'm a big Point of Interest fan). I personally do not heat and hold for a variety of reasons, and as a formulator whether you heat and hold is a decision you will have to make based on your own academic research.
